Ever since the ending of Battlestar Galactica remake left me unsatisfied, I had been wondering if a world humanoid androids was even possible. Reading the recent BBC article, by Dave Lee, in regards to the human-looking robot for companions was a far-removed possibility reinforced that conclusion. Nevertheless, I still have faith that humanity will find a way to create humanoid robotic friend. Humans have the innate ability to do the impossible when told they cannot do it, see Steve Jobs and Bill Gates as innovation examples.

It is the human desire to find itself in creation of objects. The android is the perfection of this form. So, I ponder this point to a further to understand that human potentiality can not be measure by any current data point but by the eventual end result. Humans have been told that flying was impossible -- but yet around the everyday thousands upon thousands board jetliners. Human were told that small pox (a brief lesson) was incurable, and yet, by 1979 the virtual elimination of small pox had been achieved.

It seems to me then, that, the achievement of the impossible has always been humanity's unwillingness to give up. To be stubborn. To survive beyond subsistence. And, when human's are able to look beyond ourselves -- we, as a species, can achieve the impossible. Will humanity create the android with human like features and characteristics? Yes. In my lifetime? Maybe. I just know that one does not bet against human's ability to innovate and to procreate itself, our values, and our image. The human condition is infinite ...
