An Essay—State of American Accountability
Well, after listening to (and participating) overnight talk radio, I am convinced that America is on the brink of destruction. Daytime talk radio has convinced me of this too; I need to turn off the radio.
Oh, it is just a matter of time, of course, when the “rational people” the US Senate, House of Representative, and any Executive Administration will drive the country into the ground—in order to save it.
According to one Rick Barber, an overnight radio personality, for 850 KOA AM, he is wary of those that claim they are doing this (saving the country from some epic darkness) for the “will of god, will of national security, will of the people, and the will of the children.”
These spokespeople are willing to call on these “oppressed” minorities to usurp our liberty, but not their own, in terms of it being the “betterment of the person,” or “betterment of society” they are willing to subvert yours and mines.
In truth, they will never stop chipping away the liberty of the person or the culture (of the society), and in the end, these people reduce freedom as well as the human condition.
You can see the example, in their wanting to restrict and change the 14th amendment. It is unfair that an illegal alien baby is considered American citizen, besides it is the will of the people we should do this—you know;
You can see the example, in their advocating for a national identification car. It’s the only to be sure we know who belongs here and who does not. It is matter of national security—you know;
You can see the example, when advocates say the people have spoken that only a man and woman constitutes a marriage. It is the will of the people—you know?
You can see the example, when advocates say, it is in your best your right to self-termination, in terms of a terminal illness, are not up to you and your doctors—but to the state. It is will of God that determines when you die—you know?
You can see the example, when advocates say what a woman does with her body are subject to the terms of society. After all, it is will of the children we are protecting.
Ah yes, the will of the “virtuous cause” can enable some of the most passive citizenry into an enflamed participate. They believe that their cause is just, and some even bring the other “will of” causes into the fold as a way to validate their own. Be very circumspect when this happens. It is a trap of demise and destruction to the civil evolution.
So, here is my advice—beware of these arguments and rationales. Suspect all they claim, look under their motives and discern the truth. If they advocate that, liberty, responsibility, and accountability are to be removed from the core starting place—the individual—and that society is going to replace the core of this civilization—the person—then I say rebuke them no matter the “just” cause. I say to you be wary and active for our liberties are on the brink of usurpation.
And, then there are the words of Joseph Campbell, from the Power of Myth, ringing in my ears—“Man should not be in the service of society, society should be in the service of man.” By this measure, our liberties are allowed to evolve to their full potential…
